White and Brown SugarMany times we have heard that white sugar is bad for our health, a source of empty calories, promotes the development of bacteria and growth of tumor cells, increases blood sugar, makes you fat, causes cavities, diabetes and even whatnot health disorders.

Then why not dispose of our kitchen and replaced it with a healthy natural sweetener.

Don’t subtract small sweet delights, but instead sugar put in them some of the following healthy natural sweeteners with rich nutritional properties.


1. Xylitol

Or birch sugar is sugar alcohol found in many fruits and vegetables, and also created by the human body as a by-product of metabolism. It has the same taste as sugar but with 40% less calories. It is great for low calorie diet.

You can add in different foods and drinks as coffee, tea, juices, cereals and more. It reduces the risk of dental caries because it attracts bacteria that attack teeth and then starves because they cannot feed from it.

Xylitol has a low glycemic index (7), which means that with its consumption the percentage of sugar in the blood rises slowly, and thus insulin secretion is minimal. This makes it ideal for diabetic’s.

2. Coconut Palm Sugar

Present a natural sweetener that gives good results in people suffering from chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, obesity and cancer. This type of sugar has a low glycemic index, and also is a warehouse filled with nutritional vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Coconut sugar is minimally processed, with no artificial whiteness and contains no preservatives. Glycemic index of this sweetener is 35. A low glycemic index food helps in balancing and controlling health condition such as diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity.

Coconut sugar contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, phosphorus and boron. Compared with brown sugar, it contains twice as much iron, 4 times the magnesium and over 10 times more zinc.

Also includes B vitamins, including thiamine, riboflavin, pyridoxine, biotin, inositol etc. Coconut sugar contains a high percentage of inositol that is required for nerve transmission, the metabolism of cholesterol and redistribution of fat within the body.

Agave syrup has unusually low glycemic index (15) and practically does not affect the level of sugar in the blood.

4. Stevia

Represents a healthy natural sweetener that contains no calories, chemicals, carbohydrate and glycemic index. Stevia is a mild herb which leaves in raw form is 50 times sweeter than sugar, and refined extract is 200-300 times sweeter than sugar.

Besides favorable effect on people health, it is good for all who suffer from type 2 diabetes. Studies have shown that Stevia is with (0) glycemic index. These provide a constant level of blood glucose and avoid its sudden fluctuations.

Stevia is an excellent choice for those who have problems with excess weight. In addition to this, it has ingredients that have the ability to temporarily block the feeling of hunger. Furthermore it has been shown that in addition of containing sweets steviosides, is rich with vitamins A and C, iron, calcium, sodium, magnesium and zinc.

Besides these natural sweeteners, as natural sweetener we can use rice malt, barley malt or malt of dates.
